Open to everyone

Haxby & Wigginton Methodist Church opened the village's first fair trade coffee shop in September 2008. It is now a well established part of the community, and many customers have remarked that they don't know quite what they did before it opened!

Local, home-made
and fair trade produce

Aroma sells a wide range of hot drinks, savoury snacks and handmade cakes, endeavouring to source both fairly traded and local ingredients wherever possible. The food is reasonably priced, and constantly receives good reviews in the local press. Manager Sue Eason loves to try out new recipes for soups and salads, and the panini are always a favourite with the customers!

A great place to meet and relax

Aroma however is more than just a coffee shop: the vision of the church is that Aroma is an expression of God's love for the community. It welcomes all, from young to old and has excellent disabled access.

A friendly welcome

Although it is primarily a place for people to meet and relax, the many volunteers who wait on tables are also there to chat, listen and befriend. Faith is never far away for those who want to find out more, from invitations to local Christian events to more reflective thoughts on tables and displays throughout the year.
