The Minister
Our minister is Revd. Cameron Stirk. Cameron is married to Lucy, and they have three boys, Aidan, Callum and Ronan. The minister is responsible for the spiritual leadership of the church, together with the Stewards, and leads many of our worship services.
In addition to this church, Cameron is also minister of nearby Shipton chapel.
He can be contacted on 01904 768326.
Children's Worker
Kim Gabbatiss, our Children's Worker, is currently working with members of the Church in leading a monthly Children's Party, bringing the Bible to life through fun activities; games, crafts, action songs and interactive prayer. This is for children age 5-10 years.
Open the Book - A team of people, lead by Kim, meet regularly to present a Bible Story in two local schools 'bringing the Bible to life through drama' at Ralph Butterfield School and Wigginton Primary School assemblies.
Church Stewards
A team of eight Church Stewards work with the minister in the leadership the church. As well as providing support to the minister the stewards have a particular responsibility for ensuring that worship services of the church take place. Stewards are elected from within the membership of the church and usually serve for up to four years. The Senior Church Steward is Barbara Rattenbury.
Church Council
The Church Council is the decision making
and legally responsible body in the Church.
All formal correspondence with the church
should be address to the secretary of the
church council, Mrs. Mary Metcalf, at the
church address below.
Pastoral Care
All members and
regular worshippers are included in the pastoral care system,
which is the formal way in which the people of the church exercise
care for each other. We use a combination of methods to ensure pastoral
care is available in a way that is
appropriate to each person.
Some choose to have a pastoral visitor, others receive care through their house group.
More hi-tech options are also available.
The pastoral care work is co-ordinated
by the minister and the pastoral
secretary, Mrs Gail Lazenby, to support a
church community where all are cared for.
